Part I (list of FAQs for HDMI switch series products)
1. What is the max HDMI input cable distance and the max output cable distance for this switch?
For 4K@60Hz resolution, we recommend that you use 3-5 meters long cables. The length of the cable connected to the input port and the cable connected to the output port cannot exceed 10m in total, otherwise the signal may be unstable. If you need cables for longer distances, we have fiber optic cables for you to choose.
2. Whenever the switch is turned "on", does each device switch from 5.1 to 2.0 channel stereo?
There is an audio setting on the switch. Set it to 5.1 and when you turn it on it should stay on 5.1 and not change the devices Audio settings.
3. What kind of battery does this take for the remote?
Due to robust demand, we typically ship the products airfreight. This has caused issues with hazardous goods regulations. The remote requires a CR2025 battery, which can be found at most convenience and grocery stores. Some of the newer versions of the product have remote controls that use the more common AAA batteries.
4. What is the difference between this and KVM switch?
This will just switch the video and audio, it does not support keyboard and mouse. For KVM switch, you can control input devices through a set of keyboard and mouse.
5. Does this unit support logitech wireless mouse and wireless keyboard?
No. It does not support anything that uses USB, just switch the video and audio. For KVM switch, you can control input devices through a set of keyboard and mouse. This unit allows you to switch between 4 different HDMI inputs.
6. How does it auto select the source?
This product support automatic input source detection, when attach new input device to the switch, the switch will auto switch to this lately active source.
7. Can I convert the HDMI output from the switch to DVI using an HDMI to DVI adapter?
Of course you can. This unit supports DVI-D single link sources and displays with the use of HDMI to DVI adapters.
8. Is this bidirectional? Can I hook one PS4 up to two different monitors?
No. This is a multi input to 1 output device. A splitter is more suitable for you.
9. Can we assume that if it supports 8,10,and 12 bit color depth that it supports HDR?
This switch supports only 8 bit color depth for HDR.
10. What are all the buttons on the remote for?
You only can use the remote' ""1"", ""2"", ""3"", ""4"" buttons, other buttons are reserved and have no effect at the moment.
